Thank You to Bifurcated Carrots

I would like to thank Pat & Steph from Bifurcated Carrots, for their great little promo of this blog from theirs. And also the very warm welcome into the gardening web logging community.

I only hope that I can live up to their standards. I love reading about other people out on the net who share my passion for gardening. And so many of you make me jealous of the places you take for granted, But I guess I do the same for here.

I only hope that we can learn from each other as we grow.

Thanks for the kind words, and good luck with the new blog.

You really have a great idea with your blog topic. While I guess most things have been covered by some blog somewhere by now, and there are a lot of great blogs around, I think you really have a fresh new perspective I haven't seen before.

Though I can see it majorly limiting any chances of my earning a living out of blogging..... lol

I don't think anyone gets rich off of a blog, but I don't think your topic limits you very much.

There are many blogs out there, gardening and otherwise, that fill their blog with ugly ads and paid links, then pollute search engines and statistic gathering sites so their blog seems popular when it really isn't. If what you write is interesting enough that people are still willing to slog through all of that, you can make money this way a few pennies at a time, regardless of your blogging topic. You don't seem like the type of person to do this!

Other bloggers like 'Horticulture' or 'Veggie Gardening Tips' have written books based on the subject matter of their blogs, and use their blogs to promote them. 'Daughter of the Soil' is a musician, and uses her gardening blog to promote her CDs.

The people behind several blogs have 'real' jobs that are related, most of them journalists or scientists (Horticulture, Kitchen Gardening International, Agricultural Biodiversity, Blogging Biodiversity), that use their blogs to promote themselves professionally.

Like I said, don't expect to get rich, but there are a lot of possibilities if you set your mind to it.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Though it wont happen any time soon.

I have already declined 1 offer of pay per post, cause it had nothing to do with the aims or content of the blog, (a Payday Advance Co.). And if I did do an ebook I would be more likely to give it away than sell it....lol
